Kia ora, and welcome to our new children and their whanau.
Nga Pepi Programme
A big thank you to all Nga Pepi families for bringing in your special photo’s to add to the Whanau wall! Nga Pepi staff are really enjoying building responsive and trusting relationships with their beautiful babies.
Ruma Potiki Programme
Ruma Potiki are focusing on building a sense of belonging therefore creating a Whanau wall. Teachers would appreciate a family photo to contribute to this wall. You can either bring it in or email to tuakaulc@xtra.co.nz. Currently the tamariki are enjoying lots of singing, magnetic stories and using poi.
Nga Teina Programme
Nga Teina teachers are adapting their teaching approach by supporting child lead play. Last month we found the children had an interest in huts. By having available blankets and sheets for children to access they were able to create cafes, hospitals, story time areas and construction zones. Big thanks to Jack Horotini (one of our tamariki) and his whanau for donating recyclable boxes especially the big one the children turned into a “jack in the box”, boat, bed and a spot to relax.
Nga Tuakana Programme
It has been another great month in Nga Tuakana. The children have been very busy exploring houses, towers, bug houses and bugs to name a few. It is great to see the children working things out with each other more and seeing how creative they can be. Winter is well with us now so please bring extra clothes and a raincoat for your child.
Scholastic Book Club
Last month we had our first scholastic book order which was very popular. You will find with this newsletter the latest issue for the term, it is due back on the 26th June. See Nicole if you have any questions on how it works. Books are a great opportunity to extend your child’s knowledge and communication.
