Kia ora, and welcome to our new children and their whanau.
Nga Pepi (0-1) Programme
We have welcomed more children into our room and it has been great settling these children and watching new friendships form. The Children have been exploring the heuristic play resources.
Ruma Potiki (1-2) Programme
The children have been developing their ball skills as they have enjoyed using the swing ball and throwing balls through the hanging hoops. We have also started celebrating Matariki (Maori New Year) and incorporating focus related activities such as weaving harakeke and cooking traditional kai. Come in and take a look at our awesome wall display that our tamariki have contributed to.
Nga Teina (2-3½) Programme
We would like to welcome back Valmai and Gail who have joined our teaching team. We have been observing our children working with the blocks, building houses, garages, and enclosures for animals. The children have also enjoyed making music, dancing and listening to our story CD’s. At the Shard Centre we have been gaining lots of confidence in new environments and exploring new surroundings. Cooking is an ongoing interest and we will soon be making yummy treats in the kitchen.
Nga Tuakana (3½-4) Programme
We have had another great month exploring and learning at Nga Tuakana. We would like to welcome Shelley Murphy to our team as a 2nd year student and reliever. We have been really impressed with the amazing creations and learning that has been happening, Tino pai mahi! The children really enjoy singing so this month we have included a favourite song so you can sing with your children at home.
The Peanut Song
The peanut sat on the railway track, his heart was all a flutter (fan hand by heart) along the track came number ten (ten fingers) toot toot (hand action) peanut butter……..smash (Hands together)……..enjoy!
